This is how I try to live. I want to go where God leads and not where I want to lead myself and not where man leads. I have learned that it is not wise to blindly follow the wisdom of man, but to only follow God. 1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
There are times when we do call upon the wise counsel of a godly person, and God uses wise people to help us with some areas of our lives, but this is something we have to exercise caution in doing, and we need to know for certain these people are hearing from God and not just forming their own opinions. This is why paying attention to the leading of God is of utmost importance.
I must do life—God's way, not the world's way, not even all the things that look okay and seem good. If He doesn't say yes, then I can't say yes. He knows what is best and what is best for me, and He knows me better than I know myself.
Sometimes, I seem to know so very little but my comfort is knowing He holds the plan. He asks me to have faith and trust Him all the way, even in a sometimes deafening silence and even when I can't see where He is taking me. But I have learned that faith is not a knowing journey and instead, it is knowing and trusting God.
In our relationship of walking with Him it isn't about figuring everything out. It is about continuing this journey with Him. When I walk with Him each day, I know I am going where He leads.
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
