Catch the Sky

I caught the sky in a moment of beauty the morning I took this photo. As I opened the blinds on the east side of the house, the beautiful skies magnetically drew me outside to catch a better gaze.

I love to watch the sunlight spread across the sky, ushering in the newness that lies ahead for yet another day. It’s as though it also ushers in a fresh intimacy with the Lord as I stand under the vast expanse of His creation with nothing at all between us. I know His Spirit lives inside of me; and when I am standing beneath a big, beautiful morning sky, I also know He is all around me. That is what I take with me through the rest of the day.

The beauty of morning was birthed in my heart several years ago when I began, day by day and dawn by dawn, running to meet my Lord, embracing the blessings His presence poured into my life. It was an enigma—each day He filled me to overflowing while simultaneously filling me with a thirst for more.

As we choose to place our first thoughts upon Him each morning, we begin the day with the joy that can only come from walking in close relationship to the Lord. The beauty of morning is the treasure of more of Him.

Morning is a wonderful time to find great joy in who God is and to discover anew the overflowing abundance of His love, grace, and mercy.

My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.  - Psalm 130:6
