The Morning Glory flowering vine is quite the persistent plant. Mow it down, it will return. Pull it up by the roots, it still comes back. Spray it and it comes back anyway.
They are often defined or described as an intrusive plant. Seems a little negative for such a pretty flowering vine, but once it gets a foothold it wants to stay.
If you have observed a plant that is a vine, you will know that it is a strong and hearty plant.
This is why Jesus refers to Himself as the vine, and to us as the branches. He is the strong steady source we are connected to when we abide in Him.
He has a lot to say in John 15 about bearing fruit or being cast away. He repeatedly offers us the best solution.
Abide in Him.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
