The Most Important Thing We Can Do

Where I walk there is a nice paved trail…

And then there is the trail off the trail where the sunlight and shadows mysteriously dance and I savor the moments this is mine to enjoy.

Nothing clears my head more than a walk in wide open spaces, fresh air filling my lungs and conversations with God.

In this place there is nothing between us and I can fully embrace being present with the Lord. I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world.

Sometimes I forget how careful I have to be to protect and guard what is so precious to me – and that is taking time to deeply focus, quietly away from thoughts of everything else, and draw near to the Lord.

Getting caught up in activities, even good ones, can take us down a road where we find ourselves involved in too many things going on at the same time. And time has slipped away without making time for what is so important.

The balance and the boundaries of how much time we give to different aspects of our lives becomes an essential pursuit when trying to consistently make time to be with God, alone.

Maybe it is sipping coffee on your back porch and watching a sunrise or sunset and enjoying it to the fullest because you are enjoying it with the Lord who made those beautiful skies.

It might be a song that stirs your thoughts to drawing near to God.

We all have them and we know exactly what means something special to us. As our days unfold before us let us choose to guard those intimate moments when we most enjoy our relationship with God.

We need to Make Time and Take Time
 to Spend Time with God alone.
This is the most important thing that we can do.

Psalm 105:3-4
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
