Touches of Spring

We have begun a study of Genesis in my adult Sunday school class at church. We just started a couple weeks ago and are immersed in the account of God’s creation.  Today we were talking about the beauty of the Garden of Eden. Last week we talked about the animals being created. Someone even asked why God created animals.

As I stood at my kitchen window this week watching several varieties of birds stopping by the bird bath and flitting from one tree branch to another all the while cheerily chirping, I was glad God created birds.

When our cat Peaches snuggled on my lap I was reminded again, I am glad God created cats.

It is as if He did it for our pleasure.

For our pure enjoyment.

When I took a walk today and came across all the signs of emerging spring, especially this patch of tulips by the playground, I was glad God who made the beautiful Garden of Eden, made tulips to signal the end of winter and beginning of spring.

It delighted Him to make all of this for us.

And it is my pleasure to enjoy, and yours.

There is something about spring
It is uplifting
It is energizing
Spring is bold with an indescribable color palette
Daringly proclaiming that all things are new
And every day promises more
Are you enjoying the coming of spring?

Isaiah 61:11
As the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
