Abba Father

Earlier this week I wrote about Genesis and creation and God’s beautiful Garden of Eden. Today I want to start by making the point that this is where He first walked in relationship with mankind with Adam and Eve. He has always been pursuing this relationship with us. The post below is a repeat from a couple years ago, but I hope it reminds you, our Lord also wants to walk in the garden with you.

Romans 8:15-17
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

I have sought Him and He drew near
He drew me into loving arms
And finally I am home

I struggle with adequate words to describe the wonderful relationship I am enjoying with the Lord. I do know this much - He eagerly awaits a heart that desires to draw close to Him. He welcomes each and every moment you choose to spend with Him.

In your relationship with the Lord, you can talk to Him, laugh, cry, and talk some more. He listens and gives you Himself in return. In my experience with people, establishing relationship isn’t that easy.

Sometimes it is hard work
and sometimes it doesn’t work at all.

With the Lord, you don’t have to work - just seek Him. Seek Him and you will find Him, know Him and you will find everlasting love. Enjoy His fellowship and you will find intimacy. Build a relationship with Him and you will find a Father.

Psalm 105:3-4
Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!
Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!
