Before Our God

We can boldly go before our God
And in His Presence humbly bow
Seek His face and call His name…
He is near when we draw near to Him

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We were singing Holy, Holy, Holy recently in church on a Sunday morning, and it amazed me how a spirit of worship and oneness filled the room as it does every time we sing about God’s Holiness. When I think about His Holiness, I find myself more amazed that a Holy God would let me come to Him and call Him - Father! This Holy God lets me walk in close relationship with Him, and greatly desires this from me.

And all of this because Jesus gave us entrance to His presence through salvation. Jesus is the only way to the Father. And it was Jesus who taught us to pray and taught us to come before our God and call upon Him as our Heavenly Father. This relationship builds that position we have with Him that is secure and safe, we can take everything to Him in prayer with the ease of talking to a father, our Father.

Lord,
I am Your child
And this is how I come,
In the Presence of all Holiness
And the Father of my heart.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

In the Shape of a Heart

I always slow down when I come to this old cemetery on my walk. This cemetery that dates back to the 1850’s is the halfway point of my walking route and as I recently approached it I noticed there was a trailing vine on the chain link fence that looked like a heart and I stopped to take its picture.

The longer I gazed at the heart on the fence the more it made me smile. I also felt like it was smiling back at me. It definitely drew me in and as I continued to observe it I saw more than a random heart-shaped formation. I saw God’s hand tracing His love for me, a reminder in the middle of my walk that He loves me. He wrote it across a chain link fence.

I am a writer. I will admit to having a big imagination. I am also reading the Old Testament and recently read about God writing the commandments on stone tablets.

I think He can draw a heart on a fence that speaks right to my very own beating heart and declare, “Kathy, right now, I want you to know- I love you.” He wants us to know He loves us.

He can find a thousand ways to show you and tell you. Open your eyes and open your heart. You will see it because He will show you too. He wants us to know He loves us.

Jeremiah 31:3
Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

Butterfly Free

Free means
I don’t have to burden myself with deep worries
I don’t have to figure everything out
I don’t have to know where everything
Is supposed to fit
Or why things happen at all

Free means
I can look at life with a new perspective
I can see beauty in all that is around me
I can see God's hand in things I don’t understand
And when I don’t see His hand
I still believe

Because I’m Free
I know He is in control
Sovereign over all
Sees and knows everything
Holds a whole world
In His hands

That’s why I’m Free
He set me free
When I put all trust in Him
And live by faith each day
And walk in His ways

And God's way
Is for me to walk
In freedom
Because this is what
He wants for me

Freedom is what He wants for you

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
