Catch the Sky

I caught the sky in a moment of beauty this morning. As I opened the blinds on the east side of the house I was met with beautiful morning skies that quickly drew me outside to catch a better gaze. Yesterday's morning sky was hazy, but today was a different story. Today was a palette for my morning heart.

I love to watch the sunlight spread across the sky ushering in the newness that lies ahead for yet another day. I have never understood the closeness I feel with the Lord standing under the vast expanse of such a big sky, but I do. It is as though there is nothing at all between us. I know His Spirit lives inside of me, but when I am standing beneath a great big morning sky, I know He is all around me. That is what I take with me through the rest of the day.

The beauty of morning was born in my heart when day by day, dawn by dawn, I ran to meet my Lord, embracing the blessings His presence poured into my life. Each day He filled me to overflowing and yet filled me with thirst for more at the same time.

This is why each morning I choose to place my first thoughts upon Him, and instantly the day begins with joy that comes from walking in close relationship to the Lord. The beauty of morning is the treasure of more of Him.

Morning is the time to find great joy in who God is
and to discover anew all the love, grace and mercy He has for you.

Psalm 130:6
My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
