God's Garden of Variety

I think (know) that God our Creator loves variety. He didn’t make us all the same. He didn’t use a cookie cutter so we’d all turn out to look like clones of each other.

He doesn’t want us to compare ourselves to others. He doesn’t want us to be pushed into a mold by others. He loves individuality and this individuality is a gift He gives us.

Our looks are different. Our personalities are different. Our interests are different and our talents and skills are different.

I love the mountains. My idea of a perfect vacation is a cabin on a hillside.

My friend loves the ocean. She collects sand from different beaches and saves it in cute containers.

I love to pick wildflowers and put them in a mason jar. Another friend would rather have an artsy vase with elegant blooms.

We are all different.

If you look at the pictures I have used with many of my recent posts you will see the evidence that God loves variety. I have pictures of poppies, honeysuckle, a magnolia and a sunflower, irises and azaleas. The picture above is a field of different wildflowers all growing together side by side and what a bouquet I could collect from those flowers!

They are all beautiful creations and they each portray their own unique beauty according to God’s perfect design.

Just like you. Just like me. We are each God’s unique creation, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Psalm 139:13-16
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
